Wappenshall Wharf. A Visitor Centre and a Community Meeting Place

We are restoring Wappenshall Wharf to realise its full potential. It’s a place where the community can connect, relax, and explore. Managed by the Shrewsbury & Newport Canals Trust (SNCT), we work to protect and enhance the route of the Shrewsbury and Newport Canals for everyone’s benefit.

The Welldeck Café

Set inside a beautifully restored Grade II listed canal warehouse, The Welldeck Café is the perfect spot to pause. We serve freshly prepared food that changes daily, along with a carefully chosen selection of coffees, teas, wines, and local beers.

Our Community Garden

Our Community Garden Project is designed to involve people of all ages in enhancing the area surrounding Wappenshall Wharf. Volunteers are currently helping to develop a variety of planting areas, and we already have a rose garden, seasonal planters, and an alpine and rockery garden.
